You do not need to incorporate to service through any of our companies.
To become an Employee or an Independent Contractor is an important decision that must be made by those choosing to enter the work-from-home community. There are several advantages as well as disadvantages to both. One important factor that you must be aware of is that the labor department does not allow any company to hire both Employees & Independent Contractors to provide the same service.
- Advantages of being an Independent Contractor
You are your own boss
You may be paid more than employees
You have no federal or state tax is withheld from your pay
You are able to take increased business deductions. - Disadvantages of being an Independent Contractor
You have few labor law protections
You have no employer-provided workers’ compensation
You have no unemployment insurance benefits & no employer-provided benefits.
You are required to pay self-employment taxes. - Advantages of being an Employee
You are usually paid a fixed hourly rate.
You may be eligible for overtime.
You may be eligible for certain benefits such as paid vacation time.
All taxes are deducted and you receive a w2 /t4 (contingent on which country you are in) at the end of the year. - Disadvantages of being an Employee
Taxes are being deducted so you have lower upfront pay.
You may be required to perform more than one task.
You may be asked to attend mandatory meetings.
You may be required to log in to additional systems and or report time.
Requirements to service with ODMS
- Must be 18 years old or older, (average cost of $16 for US residents and $34 for Canadian Residents), Cable or DSL Internet Service.
- Landline Telephone (no long distance and no additional features), PC with Windows XP, Windows 2000 or Windows 7 .
- Available to service 15-20 hours per week (you select your own schedule).

• Go to www.arise.com.
• Scroll down to the bottom right and click on apply now.
• Choose the country in which you are a legal resident.
• Read the information and proceed to create a profile (if you have any questions prior to this step please do not hesitate to call us or send us an email at admissions@opendoormultiservices.com.
• Once you reach the additional information section and you see the question: How did you hear about Arise? Select the drop down and based on which country you are located in please select word of mouth, other or family/friends.
• The follow question will be: Were you referred to Arise by an Arise Certified Professional (ACP)? Select yes in the drop down box and enter 37149 and click the search link.
• It is critical that you answer the follow up questions as honestly as possible. You do not want to select something that does not apply to you.
• You may be asked what hours you are available to service. Obviously the more available that you are, is the more clients that will be available to you. However, you do not want to say that you are available when you know that you are not.
• Once you have completed your profile you will receive an email confirmation that will take you step by step through the remaining processes.
• Once you have completed ACP101 it’s time to either incorporate or join an existing corporation. If you would like to incorporate you are welcome to do so. If you would like to join with us. Please select whether or not you would like to be an Employee or an Independent Contractor and fill out the application to get started right away.
